Assignment 1 - E wallpaper

My Final E - wallpaper

Step by step progresses

Step1:
I select a sky image as background picture for my poster. Sky represent HOPE and FUTURE. I resize it into A4 size and duplicate the layer so that I can edit it anytime.

Step 2:
I use quick selection tool to copy the admin building and transform it to the center of the poster.

Step 3:
I use quick selection wand tool and magic wand tool to crop the hand nicely. Then, I adjust the brightness of the picture and also adding effect such as drop shadow. I adjust the hand to the opacity of 90% and applying glowing style to the admin building as well.

Step 4:
I use rectangle tool to draw a rectangle at the bottom of the poster. After that, I add another rectangle in between the sky and the white rectangle.

Step 5:
I use horizontal type tool to add in the words "MMU FOM OPEN DAY". Then i change the colour and adding some effects. I apply stroke and inner shadow to make the words more attractive. Besides I have also added the date, venue and time.

Step 6:
I copy the mascot using the magic wand tool and magnetic lasso tool. I have added shadows to make it looks real. By using the same method, I have also copied the mmu logo to the right bottom of the poster.

Step 7:
And now, I realised that it is kinda empty between the words and the mascot. So, I use custom shape tool to draw arrow and duplicate it to make 4 per set. Then I link all 4 layers  together  and duplicate again.

Step 8:
Lastly, I have added the words and applied effects such as inner shadow and stroke to make the words alive. I change the font to yellow in order to catch attention. After all the adjustment, I found out that the sky looks weird. So, I use the clone stamp tool to copy the pattern of the sky to make it looks natural.

Step 9:
There is still something missing in the poster. Lastly, I go to edit > stroke to make a border for the poster so that it looks better.
